Letterfolk Letterboard for Quotes – Worth it?

We all love those instagrammable, pinterestlike decoartion ideas and would like to see them in our own homes to make them more cozy and pretty. Letter boards have been a big thing recently and the nice thing is that you can write your own quotes or phrases on them. I stumbled upon Letterfolk and thought the board and inspiration pictures looked so clean and nice. They market themselves as selling premium letter boards and definitely have a higher price than others. We went ahead and purchased a letter board from them and will share our honest review on it here.

They offer the boards in black and white and with a grey, black or white frame. They also have different sizes. Our board is in black with a grey border and came with white letters and symbols.

First of all, the board looks very sturdy and clean. You could hang it or lean it against the wall on a table for example.

The letters and symbols come all connected and you have to separate them individually. To do that it was easiest to cut them but you can also twist and turn them to loosen them. Unfortunately, for most of them there were small pieces of the plastic connecting them to one piece of plastic. It is not really visible from further away but really for a high price and premium item I expected there to be a better solution. I would think that the letters come separated with clean edges.

Sure, it can be easier to find letters if they’re ordered and being held in place with plastic connector but likely you will disconnect them anyways and will have to search the pile of letters no matter what.

I have seen other letter boards in stores for about $25 and I must say that the letters seemed to be the same quality. So I am sorry to say but you won’t be getting great letters for this price. What you do get is more options. Others that are cheaper give you less of one letter, even vowels.

Again, the actual board and frame look to be produced very well. It all sits tight and in place, and the fact that the frame is metal and not wood does make it look and feel more premium.

Now, is Letterfolk worth it?

Honestly, I don’t know. I like the board a lot and it looks super cute in our living room. I love that you can change the letters to whatever you like.
